NOTES: The sector includes much of urban Nogales, but also some excellent and under-watched birding habitat. The Nogales Wash runs adjacent to Grand Ave and has flowing water and big riparian trees in some sections, especially off N. Hohokam Dr. There are various parks, some leafy (and some not-so-leafy) neighborhoods, patches of desert, and even a few agricultural fields in the north of the sector.

Check the Nogales Recycling &
Waste Services area on N. Hohokam Dr. for big flocks of blackbirds and ravens.
Be sure to check the seasonal ponds next to (west edge) the Walmart Supercenter
and Oasis Theater. Also check Nogales Cemetery and other areas with pyracantha
and other exotic plants. 52 species were recorded in this sector on the 2018
CBC!
